Once this heart was abode of Spring,
as Satisfaction was its ruling king.
he always weared a smile,
happiness or sorrow to him both alike,
and worry never entered for a while.
Intellect knew well his duty,
intruders never got any oppourtunity,
still if one dared to sneek in,
Alertness will surely get him.
the twin guards of the city gate,
strictly checked every stranger they met.
Everywhere flourished Peace and beauty,
as in province of heart, every one did his duty.
Time and Dream conspired hard,
all the happiness they dislike.
Time got Care and Worry's word,
endeavoured hard ,so they might
invade and overthrow the king.
A full-proof plan they together made,
and stealthily they carried their raid.
Dream lulled both gaurds to sleep,
Aspiration snatching the oppourtunity,
sneaked into the ford strong,
and with him followed Expectation and Vanity.
Things gradually went wrong,
after poisoning Peace and Beauty,
they killed the counsellor Duty.
In such a reign of Fear and Terror,
soon other counsellers fast dissapeared.
Finally Satisfaction was overthrown,
and Worry wore the crown.
Care managed his ministry.
Dream,Aspiration,Expectation,and Vanity
became new counsellors of the city.
Happiness lost his citizenship,
while Hope still lingered behind,
lean and thin but always with a smile,
rest who still wished to stay,
for their citizenship made a huge pay.
Became the slaves of Worry and Time,
but Hope and rest had a prophecy in mind.
They patiently waited the day,
when the princess will sleep no long,
when healing Love's fortunate kiss,
